What the plumber does

Before the plumber comes
Take a photo of the label on the heater: brand and model.
Write down any error code on the screen.
If you smell gas, close the gas valve, open the windows and call 112. Do not switch anything on or off.
What it costs
Every plumber sends a written price, with IVA, before any work starts. You can compare up to three.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an esquentador and a termoacumulador?
An esquentador heats water as it runs, usually with gas. A termoacumulador is an electric tank that keeps hot water ready. Our hot water guide compares them.
Does the plumber need a gas licence?
Work on gas must be done by a gas technician accredited by DGEG. Plumbers whose credential we have seen show a gas badge on their profile.
Repair or replace?
Ask for both prices. If the heater is old, or parts are hard to find, a new one is often the better buy.
