Taps, toilets and showers
A dripping tap, a toilet that keeps running or a weak shower. Small jobs, done properly, by English-speaking plumbers.
Signs you need a plumber
- A tap that drips after you close it
- The toilet keeps running or refills on its own
- A weak or uneven shower
- A tap or mixer that is hard to turn
- Water around the base of the toilet
What the plumber does
- Replaces washers, cartridges and taps
- Repairs or replaces the parts inside the cistern (autoclismo)
- Descales or replaces shower heads and mixers
- Reseals around the toilet, the bath or the shower tray
Before the plumber comes
Take a photo of the tap, or of the inside of the cistern.
Find the small valve under the sink or behind the toilet. It closes the water to that point only.
Put small jobs together. One visit costs less than three.
What it costs
Every plumber sends a written price, with IVA, before any work starts. You can compare up to three.
Frequently asked questions
Is a small job worth a call-out?
Put several small jobs in one request. Many plumbers charge the call-out fee once, then by the hour.
Why does my toilet keep running?
Usually a worn seal, or a float that is out of place in the cistern. It is a quick repair, and it can save a lot of water.
Why is my shower so weak?
Often limescale in the shower head. Our limescale guide explains how to clean it. If that does not help, a plumber can check the pressure.
